Mixcoatl

Mixcoatl , whose name means “snake of clouds” in Nahuatl, is the god of the Chasse, North and the war in mythology mexica. The inhabitants of the town of Tlaxcala venerated it under the name of Camaxtli . It passed to be the ancestor of all the people which lived the oriental party of the central plate. On the representation of the Duran Codex, Camaxtli carries the attributes of the god of the hunters: the arc, the arrow S and the net. Each year, one celebrated it by organizing large beaten ritual on a ground which reconstituted a Steppe in miniature.
