Mix (radio coed)

History

the Mix radio coed was born from a keen demand of the pupils, expressed since 1987, it opened its antenna on October 3rd, 1996, after nine years of tenacity and preparation in the shape of Radio operator Club. The teams thus could acquire a solid formation radio (formats of radio, roasts programs, color of antenna, work of the voice, production and analyzes emissions, technique).

the main difficulties of installation were not only financial. As soon as a project and format of radio were defined, it was necessary to obtain Superior council of Audio-visual the the authorization to emit. Very few frequencies are available, and when a call for candidate is launched, a fierce competition is established for attribution, between the associative projects but also with the commercial radios… Five years were necessary to persuade our interlocutors of the viability of the project: to realize a radio in real size in a college.

Operation

the Mix radio coed is an associative radio of full exercise, in the respect of the convention and schedule of conditions signed with the C.S.A. It is managed like a mini-company in Lycée, its opening on the outside world is marked first of all by the dynamic partnership which it carries out with all the actors of its coverage area, that they represent the sector institutional, associative, cultural, economic, or sporting. Its operational budget is essentially brought by the subsidy of the Funds of Support for the Radiophonic Expression.

the high-school pupils wished to implement media which are the expression of a " culture lycéenne" and which makes it possible to learn how to communicate, the teachers answered this request and included/understood as of the beginning the attraction of the radio for the pupils, and the teaching exploitation which it offered.

the radio is an extraordinary tool of formation, communication, responsibilisation citizen and integration. It is also for the high-school pupils a means ludic, magic, of opening on the outside world in all dimensions: cultural, artistic, sporting, economic, scientific, environmental and political. At one time when certain observers deplore the cultural desert and the universe consumerist in which our teenagers are plunged, the practice of the radio returns them actors of the approach, the observation, and the restitution to the antenna of the outside world.

This step is addressed to the total training of the pupil.

Teaching contributions of action-radio

the radio is an expression with whole share, like painting or the cinema. The " son" can generate an authentic work, which it is necessary to locate in the culture of the writing. Operation in workshop, immediate practical application of the knowledge and knowledge-to make acquired: team work, osmosis teachers/pupils for the result with a successful radio production, analyzes productions, interventions of professionals.

the High-school pupils who take part in this extra-curricular activity on the occasion to make an initiation with journalism, the communication and radio animation, like new technologies (navigation on Internet, treatment of sound, numerical assembly).

Unfortunately, until now, no official recognition could be obtained so that this " enseignement" either evaluated and that the work of the pupils or taken into account (option with the baccalaureat or formation post-vat). The radio team works with determination in this direction, and in particular so that an artistic workshop of radiophonic expression is retained as well as the theater, the dance, the cinema or arts of the circus.

Roast programs

the whole of the grid of MIX proposes musical programs, emissions of service, data transmission and headings informative. This cutting makes a choice place with productions in teaching matter. Their format is elaborate with the persons in charge concerned of MIX for a good integration in the grid. Project Mix is that of a radio in school: it develops communications tools put at the service of the schools and academics of our sector.

Format of the radio (extracted the candidates' file C.S.A.):

Public aimed: main target: 15 - 25 years (school, student)

secondary target: other age brackets, in particular partners of the school community, primarily parents, but also all citizens concerned with the associative, sporting, cultural activities.

Format: MIX a will expresses to communicate, inform, divert and form. The purpose of it is to connect the school to the outside world. She proposes with the listener newspapers, press reviews, reports, chronicles (literary, economic, scientific, educational, cinematographic, school mediation), and headings various on the initiative of the pupils and professors.

Its format resembles that of France Info but contrary: a musical program whose tonality evolves/moves according to the hours of the day constitutes the backdrop, in which the headings are inserted. Only the appointments of information are at fixed hours, as well as the regular emissions and headings to make it possible the listener to keep reference marks and points of fasteners to its radio.
