Michel Strogoff is a Romance of Jules Verne published in 1875 writes especially for the visit of the Tsar in Paris. This book was approved besides by the Russian authorities before its publication.

This Romance describes the tour of Michel Strogoff, Courrier of the Tsar of Russia, of Moscow to Irkoutsk, capital of the Eastern Siberia. Its mission is to inform the brother of the tsar, without news of Moscow, of the imminent arrival of the Tartar hordes carried out by the traitor Ivan Ogareff to invade Siberia. On this road full with obstacles, it will find beautiful Nadia, as well as the European journalists Harry Blount and Alcide Jolivet.
