Mitchourinsk
Mitchourinsk (Russian: Мичуринск ) is a town of Russia located 400 km at the south of Moscow in the area (oblast) of Tambov. The city counts 93.100 inhabitants (2005).
Mitchourinsk is an important rail junction and is in the middle of the fertile grounds sprinkled by the rivers Oka and Don.
In 1636 a baptized fortress Koslov (Козлов) is built on the site of the agglomeration. This one reaches the statute of city in 1779 and is famous Mitchourinsk in 1932 in reference to the Russian Agronome Ivan Vladimirovitch Mitchourine at the time still alive.
On the economic plan, the principal employers of the city are a manufacturing plant of engines and agribusiness industry.
