Mission San Diego de Alcalá
The Mission San Diego de Alcalá (at the origin Misión San Diego de Alcalá ) was founded the July 16th 1769 by the Father Junípero Serra close of what is the current town of San Diego, in California. It was the first of a series of 21 missions in Alta California, and one indicates it today under the name of “Mother of the Missions of Alta California” ( the Mother off the Alta California Missions ) and “First church of California” ( California' S First Church ). It was located in the First District Military and named in the honor of Didacus d' Alcalá.
It is today a National Historic Landmark restored, and a place of always active worship
