Biography
Mireille Fix-Gruber began his career with a double cassette, as teaching and attached university of the French Foreign affairs (missions in Germany, Italy, Egypt, Czechoslovakia). Unusual journey which prints an opening to him on the world, reflecting in a emblematic way in its professional work. Theorician of the novel and esthetics, it published many works, devoted in particular to the following contemporary authors: Michel Bittern, Helene Cixous, Assia Djebar, Marguerite Duras, Claude Ollier, Claude Simon, referring to the cinema (Nelly Kaplan, Jacques Rivette), or to the question of the sexual differences, in its reports/ratios with artistic creation and arts person. Its scholarship and its constant preoccupations with a rigor do of it one of the most prolific researchers and stimulants of its generation.
The style and the force of its literary analyzes and esthetic are intrinsically related to its practice of the fiction. These two practices form, indeed, the diptych resolutely interdependent of its work of writing. No criticism without poetic, under its feather, nor of writing of invention without the increased sensitivity, vis-a-vis the texts of the others, that its analytical step sets up. In addition allied with a sharp knowledge of the foreign languages (Italian, German, English, Arab), its creativity makes it particularly sensitive to the single voice of each author or artist whom it approaches. Principle of listening which founds the single character of its research, in addition strongly influenced by the philosophical thought. Its loans with this discipline (Aristote, Plato, Héraclite, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Derrida, Nancy, inter alia) confer to him an acuity of singular reading in the field of the literary studies current. Since 2006, it directs the edition of the Complete Œuvres of Michel Butor to the Editions of the Difference.
