Miranda July

Miranda July , from its true name Miranda Grossinger , girl of two writers, was born in 1974 with Barre in the Vermont, is a musician, actress, scenario writer, writer and American director . She grew has Berkeley and currently lives with Los Angeles in California, after having lived several years with Portland.

She is in particular the director of the film Me, you and all the others ( Me and You and Everyone We Know ), her first feature film left in 2005, which received at the time of the Cannes festival 2005 the Price of the Week of Criticism and the Price of the Caméra of Gold.

She writes in The Paris Review and The Harvard Review , and one can regularly hear his performances with the radio in the emission The Next Big Thing on NPR . It has just left its first book, " No one belongs young stag more than you."

Works and achievements

Me, you and all the others is the first feature-length film of Miranda July. The scenario was finalized within the workshop of writing and from realization of Sundance in 2003 and Miranda July received the Sundance/NHK International Filmmaker' S Award 2004 . She works in several artistic fields: film, audio, performance and writing. Its short films ( Haysha Rokyo, The Amateurist, Nest off Tens, Getting To think Every Day ) were projected in the whole world including with the MoMa and the Guggenheim . Nest off Tens and the sound installation The Drifters was presented to the Whitney Biennal 2002 . Miranda July took part in the Whitney Biennal 2004 with learningtoloveyoumore.com , assembled with the support of the Creative Capital Foundation and in collaboration with the artist Harrel Fletcher . The performances multi-media of Miranda July ( Coils Diamond, The Swan Tool , and How Learning to Draw ) were presented to the Intitute off Contemporary Art of London and to The Kitchen in New York.
