Miramas

Miramas (in Occitan Of Provence: Miramàs according to the traditional standard or Miramas according to the Norme mistralienne) is a Commune Frenchwoman, located in the department of the Rhone delta and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure.

Geography

The territory of the commune is located at the north of the pond of Berre, with approximately 60km in the North-West of Marseilles.

History

The ruins of a Roman oppidum are on the site of the commune. Miramas Has just see the sea (to mir; reflected; the mar) but it is the pond of Berre. Primarily working, Miramas is named an in the past dormitory town Constantine, or Miramas-Station. With the crossing of the 4 ways (Roman way) sets up a small mount " miramas the vieux" where the pond is seen because miramas city one does not see it. Located on the plain of Crau, it marks the end of the last peripheral crown Marseillaise.
