Comrades, Knowledge of Guts

  • Gambino and Sys

They are the two adoptive parents of Guts. Whereas the Gambino band passed close to a battle field, his Sys wife discovered the Guts young person, coldly been confined of the belly of one hung. In spite of the bad omen obvious, Sys collected it, with the despair of her husband. Later, Sys mourrut of the plague, which for much, being the sign that Guts carried misfortune.

Gambino educated his/her adoptive son hard, still keeping the death of his wife like objection against this one. Guts thus became under its cane a good combatant, but never had the chance to feel protected by anyone, which explains its hard character. After its first battle, Gambino sold Guts with one of its soldiers, Donovan, which was killed the following day by drunk Guts of revenge, the same day, Gambino lost its leg in a combat.

Gambino ends up meeting its destiny when in a crisis, it tried to kill his/her son (after his amputation it sank in despair and became more or less insane), Guts killed it almost unconsciously, which will be worth to him to be driven out by its band.

  • Godo and Erika

Godo is a former blacksmith of the King and allegedly most gifted since decades, Erika is his/her daughter. After the destruction of the Band of the Falcon, Rickert remained with Guts and Casca in their house and became the apprentice of Godo, while Erika dealt with Casca.

Godo and Rickert fabriquérent the new weapons of Guts, which “ also borrowed ” the DragonSlayer ( Pourfendeuse of Dragon ), most incredible of the weapons of Godo, a so large sword and door which it is able, as its name indicates it, to kill a dragon of a blow. It is following a royal order that Godo forged this weapon, but it was driven out court, the weapon being judged like an insult, being unmanageable for a normal soldier… It will be admitted that Guts is not human a normal .

Guts punctually returned to make repair these weapons in the old blacksmith, although it is from now on Rickert which takes care of the forging mill, Godo being too old. After one particularly rigorous winter, the old man ends up dying, leaving his daughter to the care of his apprentice.

  • Isidro

Young robber, he is a travelling companion of Guts. Admiring this last, it does all so that this last teaches him the fencing. Guts thus taught him the bases, but made him understand that it would be necessary that it develops its own style with the sword and that he could never be like him. After these councils, Isidro thus developed a kind contrary to that of Guts, while making use of short blades and its smallness to its advantage (doubled owing to the fact that it is a highly skilled stone launcher). Although enough useless at the beginning, it takes importance and takes an active part in the engagements against the Apostles

Isidro is posed with Puck, which allegedly took it as apprentice, like the comic duet of the group. It is often presented like a character a little idiotic, but débrouillard and equipped with a certain courage in spite of its young age. He and Puck often enter in verbal conflict with Schierke and Evarella which judge them stupid and déraisonnés (Evarella calls Isidro only the monkey), this being partially of to the fact that Isidro more or less humiliated the young witch at the time of their first meeting (by touching the chest to him to see whether it were of a man or a woman).

  • Schierke

Schierke (sometimes spelled Silke) is the apprentie witch of Flora, who lives with deepest of one of the forests of Midland. It is a very soft, wise and intelligent person in spite of its young age. She is accompanied by an elf, Evarella, which serves to him a little tutor in addition to her Master. Schierke punctually appears after resurrection the Femto one/Griffith, then Isidro assistance, Farnese and Casca when those are attacked by Trolls. Later, Guts and its band fall on it and Flora in their manor.

Schierke joined the band of Guts on the authority of Flora, who saw there a good experiment for her apprentie. Schierke benefitted from it to offer to the band powerful magic artefacts able to better protect them from future the magic threats.

After the death of Flora, it definitively accompanies Guts towards the birthplace by Puck, only capable place to protect Casca. During the voyage, it became the Master in sorcery of Farnese.

Although devastated by the death of its Master, it takes again confidence in it thanks to Guts and proves its value by saving it of the influence of the Armor of Berserker, this several times. Progressively, it would seem that it fell in love with him, with the great recreation of Evarella. It enters prallèlement often in conflict with Isidro which takes a malicious pleasure to irritate it, under the desperate eyes of Puck and Evarella.

Scierke is a rather timid person, who tries not to draw the attention (difficult within sight of its look), but which is deeply filled of softness and naivety. It perpetually tries to arrange the things with less possible problems, but malheuresement, that always does not go. With Guts, it is probably most powerful of the band, although young person and fragile, his capacities can be devastators, including for it.

  • Flora

She is the mistress of one of the forests of Midland and ensign her art with the Schierke young person. She seems to know much things and in spite of her appearance, to be much older than she does not appear to with it.

About to die, she entrusts the Armor of Berserker, which SkullKnight had entrusted to him, in Guts, by hoping that its apprentie will be able to protect its carrier. It appears besides that she knows SkullKnight personally, but the nature of their relation is not known.

  • Puck and Evarella

Puck is an elf who accompanies Guts in the manga, but not in the animated series: it appears indeed well after the time of the flashback which gave rise to animates.

In the part “gore” of the manga, Puck constitutes a good counterpoint with the character of Guts, become pitiless; it represents to some extent the heart of child of the character and avoids with the cartoon an exclusive to and from between the purulent entrails of tortured and those of the victims of Guts.

Evarella it is the elf of Schierke, much more considered than Puck, it nevertheless has a small childish aspect and taquin. It is especially used to go up the moral one of the young witch in particular after the death of Flora (and to make fun of it as for its pseudo-love for Guts).

Worsen Kushan

The empire of Kushan is, with that of Midland, the greatest Empire of the world of Berserk. It is directed of an iron hand by the Ganishka emperor. In the same way that the empire of Midland takes as a starting point the Germany/France/England by the Middle Ages, that of Kushan draws its inspiration in the Othoman and Arab Kingdom.

  • Silat

Silat is a valorous combatant of Kushan, which works as mercenary with two assistants. It is a specialist in the combat to short and average range where its panoply of weapons enable him to drive back its adversary. Although he is sworn fidelity with the Emperor, the methods of this last is repugnant to it, and it is not known as that it separates some, to act as solo.

It put a point of honor to find and overcome Rakshas, Bakiraka Kushan deposed, maintaining with the orders of Griffith and which finds in Silat, a source of recreation.

  • Bakiraka

Bakiraka is a guild of assassins who raised their art with that of a religion. One sees some several, but Midland with his troop special, in charge of the cleaning of people génantes. The troop is composed of five combatants, a dwarf handling the blowpipe and sufficiently small for infltrer everywhere; another which uses the rivers to camouflage themselves and attack by surprise; a musculeux giant, follower of the javelin; a very nimble warrior handling pairs of combat claws; a woman handling the explosives and other poisons.

They are opposed to the Band of the Falcon whereas this one has just released Griffith. They all will be killed after Judeau is discovered how to break their strategy, the woman being even killed with the hands of the King for their failure.

Minor apostles

  • Chief of the plunderers

The first Apostle to oppose a true resistance to Guts. He is the chief of gangsters who holds to ransom a small town. Guts will massacre all its band, before finishing it with blows of gun.

  • the Count

Another Apostle, a little more consistent that there. He was formerly a good lord and very piles, but sacrificed his wife (and her mental health), after having discovered that she devoted herself to orgiaques evenings. Its larger treasure is his/her daughter, Thérésia.

It will fight against Guts, but seriously wounded, it will call upon the capacity of God Hand to help it. Those of him granting their assistance that provided that it sacrifices his daughter, it could there be solved and was killed by its Masters.

Contrary to step badly of Apostles, one thus notes who the Count is not so hateful, he regards until the end his daughter as being more important than his life. His/her daughter has besides promised in Guts that she would avenge one day or other fire her father, business to be thus followed.

  • Wyald

He is the chief about Black Molosse, to which the King of Midland appeals to capture Griffith, which has just been released by the Falcons. One knows few things about him, if is not that it was recruited by the king among the most dangerous prisoners of the prisons of Midland, to become the chief about Black Molosse.

The order of black Molosse is an atypical order in the army of Midland: it exclusively made up of is taken again justice, prisoners and criminals, all plus violent one the ones that the others. The order of black Molosse was illustrated by its feats of arms during the war against Tudor but more sadly also for the exactions and the crimes which they systematically made in enemy territory as in allied territory!

Wyald thus continued the falcons with pleasure, because it held them responsible for its lack of fame. It appears during its combat against the Falcons by its lack of consideration for the life of its men like by his superhuman force…

In front of the resistance of Guts and falcons, which put in rout black molosses, Wyald shows its true nature while being transformed into demon, equipped with a body similar to a yéti in three eyes. This thus confirms its nature of Apostle

Wyald made a carnage in the falcons but Guts, during a duel epic, ends up embanking it. Left for death, Wyald will be raised for an ultimate last-ditch struggle: he will play its go-all while taking as a Griffith hostage.

Whereas it prepares to carry out it, Wyald meets its destiny in the person of Zodd, come to the rescue from the falcons and the carrier from scarlet Béhélit. This one completes it without cares by breaking it with blows of horns.

It would seem that Wyald is made the very old sacrifice, as its body shows it after its death (Apostles finding the body of origin to their death). It is estimated that its démoniaque life lasted hundred years.

  • Rosine

This Apostle is an young girl resulting from a rape, hated by his parents. It rève perpetually of going to live in the country of the elves, to be able to escape its misfortunes. She will inherit Béhélit and will sacrifice her parents to become a species of butterfly/guèpe humanoïde, which removes the children of its old village, to transform them into pseudo-elves, enabling him to carry out her rève.

His/her former better friend, Jill, met Guts and tried to retain it in her fatal madness, without much success. Rosine fint despite everything by dying happy, in the arms of his/her single friend and seeing Puck on the shoulders of its assassin, really carrying out his rève to see an elf before dying.

  • Béhélit

This apostle is at the base a deformed young man, driven out by the various villagers and qu inherited Béhélit. He asked God Hand to give him an egg body, so that he can accommodate the Revival and the Fifth of his Masters when time comes.

He swallows finally the child of Guts, Griffith and Casca, and sacrifices himself to offer a body to Femto, as the destiny had wanted it.

Noble minors

  • Governor Gannon

Gannon is a former employer of Griffith, very related to the young boys, and who managed to put this last in his bed against an important amount of money.

He dissociates himself as being the last enemy of the King of Midland, holder of a probably impregnable fortress. Griffith and the Falcons managed nevertheless to beat it at his place while benefitting from an error of strategy. Although Gannon beseeched Griffith to save it, this last killed it without remorse, making disappear a person able to spread unpleasant rumors about it.

  • Roderick

Roderick is a friend of Manifico Vandimion, the brother of Farnese Lady. All three agreed so that he marries the young girl, but when this one escaped with his/her former comrades, he their proved not to be not without resources, providing them a ship and allowing them to flee the city attacked, that allowing him to follow Farnese despite everything.

Roderick is not an ugly customer, it is exceeded just a little by all that surrounds it and the monsters with which Guts and its band are confronted. Although it is not inevitably capable to fight against chimerical monsters, it has to prove its value while interposing several times to protect Farnese and to however show a good courage while being opposed to demons, many times more powerful than him.
