Recruitment and formation

The mining engineers, for a great majority of them, are recruited as engineer-raises at the exit of the Polytechnic school, the National university (Paris, Cachan), and of the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the mines of Paris (civil cycle). Annual promotions do not count more than one about fifteen engineer-pupils. Moreover, 1/10 of manpower of the body to the maximum can be recruited by internal promotion of the engineers of industry and the mines.

The engineer-pupils carry out a one two years duration training course to the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the mines of Paris. This formation is distinct from that, three years, followed by the students in engineering, and has his own director of studies.

The purpose of additional training is to make known theoretical and practical operation of the companies, as well as a good comprehension of the responsibilities for the public power in the technical fields and economic.
