Minimum wages of activity

The Minimum wages of activity ( RMA ) is a device intended to facilitate the professional reintegration of the recipients of the Minimum wages of insertion (RMI).

Created by the Government Jean-Pierre Raffarin (3) (law n° 2003-1200 of the December 18th 2003) and applied since January 1st 2004, the RMA is proposed within the framework of the contract of insertion concluded by the people who have profited from the RMI for at least two years.

Concretely, it is about a work contract at limited duration, part-time, one minimum duration 20 hours per week for one six months initial duration. It is renewable twice within a 18 months limit.

The recipient perceives an income whose amount must be at least equal to time SMIC multiplied by the number of hours worked. This income is directly versed by the employer.

The employer profits from a departmental help, contractually fixed at the monthly amount of the RMI for a person alone with 433,06 € at January 1st 2006. He does not pay whereas the difference between the amount of the RMI and the wages. To note that all the employers can conclude this type from contract, except for the services of the State and departmental and of the private individuals.
