Minikeums

Minikeums was a French television program for the Jeunesse diffused March 31st 1993 at April 1st 2002, on France 3 of 7:00 to 9:00 and 16:40 to 17:40.

The emission

It lasted approximately two hours during which parodies, cartoons and other headings were connected.

Minikeums

The emission was animated by about fifteen Marionnettes in latexes, created by Alain Duverne, all the Caricature S of known people of the time. Confined at the beginning in short scenes of transition between two cartoons to leave the children time to breathe while praising the merits of the sequences remaining to diffuse, they reached quickly from the stage of organizer the stage of actor.

Between two programs, the puppets made some Sketch are (Taratatouille, Questions under a lampion…); were added then some longer stories with the appearance of the Cinékeum in 1996 (often of the parodies of known works). A film putting them in scene, Panikeum over the year 2000 , was diffused the December 31st 1999. They also recorded several Chansons, of which a tube, My Mélissa , parody worship (rather corrosive for an emission youth) of the servant boys-band, become Disque of gold in 1997, which remains more the famous brand of their passage.

For this emission, Jean-Marc Lenglen, the author-dialogiste-scenario writer, says to be inspired of people who make it laugh: “of Charlot to Tati for the visual vein, of the brothers David and Jerry Zucker with Mel Brooks for the daftness, a good amount of Monty Python and English humor, a Woody Allen for the catches of heads, De Funès, the Splendid, the Deschamps, because French humor it is not badly either, a suspicion of Desproges to sometimes blacken humor, a hair of data base to fill the boxes, and then a tear on the side from Queneau or Perec for the taste of the words”.

MNK

In spite of a still goes down for hearing presents, 20% of market share of the time on average, Eve Baron, the director of the programs youth of France 3 of the time, decides to remove the emission because according to an investigation, the children would be wearied of Minikeums. The emission will continue to be present in version " allégée" who will act as transition to accustom the young televiewers to do without the puppets. Indeed, the majority of the puppets were removed, those which remained less often appear, and the sketches are less long. The final adoption

April 1st 2002, the children discover a bad fish of April; after nearly 4500 emissions, Minikeums leave the screen signing the end of what one describes as Minikeums Génération , replaced by TO3, one of the first emissions youth carried out completely in synthesized image, followed by France Trick and Toowam. The emission will thus have lasted almost ten years, and strongly marked the youth of the Années 1990.

Currently, if the sites with regard to them are quasi-non-existent, Minikeums were not forgotten by their former fans. The majority of these reproach the emissions which succeeded the puppets never not to have reached the subtlety of the spirit Minikeums, relatively riper than its substitutes and equipped with less redundant gags.

Today

After Minikeums and MNK , several programs took over, but never held more than two years compared with nine for Minikeums : there was TO3 (2002-2004), France Trick (2004-2006) and currently Toowam , which is the first emission youth of France 3 since 1993 not to have presenters, that they are real, virtual, or out of latex. While waiting, on the little of existing sites on Minikeums, there exist petitions asking their return to the screen; certain people send even messages to the chain so that the latex puppets reappear.

Some sequences of Minikeums were published in the form of cassettes VHS, ( Minikeums make their Cinékeum , Cinékeums has to make fear and Panikeum over the year 2000 ) but it seems that no project of DVD is planned for the moment.

Minikeums generation

The ceaseless requests of nostalgic finally seem to be heard, since on December 23rd, 2006, Minikeums return on the screens for a special program within the framework of Toowam , after four years of absence.

First edition

France 3 diffused the December 23rd 2006 around 8 a.m. a Best off 26 minutes which takes again some sketches with success with encloses of it Cinékeum “the Spy who sought the love”, pastiche of James Bond . The TV rating would have been 4,5 times more important than usually at such an hour by reaching 20% of audience.

2nd edition

As promised by Coconut at the end of special the Christmas of 2006, an 2nd edition of Génération Minikeums saw the day the April 9th 2007 at 8 a.m. 30 for special a Easter with encloses of it Cinékeum “GueGuerre of space”, pastiche of the Star Wars . This time, the audience would not have exceeded more than 8% or 9% are approximately 1,5 times more than per same hour in Toowam . The unit youth of France 3 awaited an important mobilization this Monday April 9th 2007. Finally, France 3 decides to make a new test of popularity on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 in order to better evaluate the audience which will determine can be the return of Minikeums. It was about the repeat broadcast of the precedent " Minikeums" generation;. According to Toutelatele.com , this Wednesday, August 15 on France 3, Toowam arrived at the head of the audiences with 23.5% of market share.

An awaited return

Minikeums will not make their return in 2007. The director of the programs youth of France 3, Julien Borders, decided to continue the adventure Toowam during still a year. According to France 3, the next change of the programs youth of the chain will take place in 2008. France 3 will diffuse new a Génération Minikeums with Christmas 2007.

Around the emission

During a special program, Minikeums received the Rappeur MC Solaar, for true a Interview.

In a sketch based on the tales from the Arabian Nights Me had fun to divert the Arab greeting “Salaam alekum” in “Salaam alekeum”.

For the five years birthday of diffusion, one April 1st (1998), France 3 granted all along the day a Minikeums special program.

Leon the Koala appeared during the day of Christmas: Minikeums thus decided to call it thus but as “Christmas” is a heavy name to carry the remainder of the year, Josy decided to reverse the letters, which gave “Leon”.
