Minigun
A minigun is a machine-gun with high Cadence of shooting (several thousands of blows at the minute) provided with several rotary guns (way Gatling).
More exactly, a minigun is Gatling confining a ammunition of rifle. In the popular culture, a minigun is very standard of weapon multi-guns of the type Gatling at high rate of shooting, and is often visible in video games (Grand Theft Auto) and films (Predator (1987), Terminator 2 (1991) and Matrix (1999)).
The ancestor of the modern minigun was built towards the end of the nineteenth century, when Richard J. Gatling replaced the crank of manual drive of the mechanism of a Gatling by an electrical motor. He tried to reduce the rate of shooting but the weapon reached 3000 blows per minute.
History and Operation
