Mingan
Mingan was recognized like an Indian reserve in 1949; it is located in the east of Quebec, in Canada, in the administrative area of Coast-North. Mingan or Ekuanitshit, in the language innue, was formerly a gathering place in summer. Many families found themselves there after having spent the winter in their respective territories of hunting. It is on the coast in the middle of Archipelago-of-Mingan now National park of Archipelago-of-Mingan.
