Minéralurgie
The object of the minéralurgie is to treat mineral raw materials in order to extract some under economic conditions given and a site where it will be advisable to respect the environment of the useful preservatives of which it will be necessary to draw from the benefit. It is the stage upstream of the metallurgy.
The minéralurgie consists of a whole of processes of treatment of ore. It can be a question of techniques thermal, physical, chemical, etc
A process mineralurgic comprises two successive stages coarsely (it is actually more the share of time much more complex):
- mechanical preparation (Fragmentation), made up of a Crushing possibly followed by a Crushing; these operations can be carried out in several stages, with intermediate siftings aiming according to the case eliminating a part (sterile) of the Minerai or at recycling the largest particles upstream;
- the separation itself of the interesting mineral phases and the gangue (or sterile); one can use methods purely physical (magnetic, gravimetric, optical, electrostatic, etc), physicochemical (Flottation, Lixiviation, etc), biochemical (action of Bactérie S), or chemical (netting, solubility).
The concentrate obtained is the subject often of a final conditioning before being sent towards the metallurgy: drying (even calcination), pelletizing, mixture,….
