Miloš Urban
Miloš Urban (born on September 4th, 1967 with Sokolov) is a writer, translator and Czech writer.
Biography
Miloš Urban studies in a college of Karlovy Vary and spends some time to London. Graduate, it studies the literature with the Université Charles of Prague, in the pulpits of English and of the Scandinavian Langues, of 1986 to 1992. From 1992 to 200 he works as writer in the publisher Mladá fronta . From 2001, he becomes editor association with Argo .
Work
Miloš Urban wrote six novels. Its books are translated in several languages. Translations in French are in preparation. In addition to its novels, Urban wrote plays ( Trochu lásky (a little of love) and Nože has růže (the knife and the pink), some news, and translated several books.

This book, published in 1998 at the publisher Argo, is initially published under the pseudonym of Josef Urban. It is acted in fact of the name of the main character. Indeed, the book is presented in the form of a work of " new literature factuelle" , and not like a fiction. The author claims to share with us his research on the handwritten in old Czech language] created of any part, at the time of the Czech national revival of the 19th century.The second edition of 2005, is made under the original name of the author.
The main character: Josef Urban, is a university researcher in the field ds social sciences. With its assistant, he discovers some letters concerning the handwritten in old Czech language. The researchers establish together several assumptions starting from these fragments. All with the fn of the novel, a revolutionary explanation at the origin of these manuscripts is advanced.
The author describes the world of the university research thus, with his many intrigues and treasons. He also proposes a return over the 19th Czech and European century, while utilizing the figures of Božena Němcová and Václav Hanka.
Sedmikostelí (seven churches)
This novel published in 1999, at the publisher Argo, is most known of Miloš Urban. It was translated into German, Hungarian, Russian and Spanish. He is regarded as a chief of work of the modern Gothic literature. The main character, old police, and impassioned history medieval is related to several murders in old the Prague.
Hastrman (spirit of the waters)
This novel published in 2001 gained the Czech literary prize Magnesia Litera in the category prose . It was translated into Hungarian. A film being inspired is being prepared.The history combines Czech myths with modern ecological problems. Hastrman is the name of a spirit of the waters, recurring in the Czech legends. A news of Jan Neruda, in famous the Contes of Mala Strana carries the same title.
The novel is divided into two parts. The first occurs in the Thirties the 19th century. Noble, after livehaving lived a long time abroad, turns over on its grounds in Bohemia. He discovers a new world. In the second part, which proceeds at the time current, a man decides to put an end to the disorder of the world, a weapon with the hand.
Paměti poslance parlamentu (Memories of a member of Parliament)
It is about one of the rare Czech political novels. It was published in 2002. He tells the love life of a young socialist deputy of the Snemovna and his meeting with one intriguing appointed conservative party. The author paints in background the slides of the policy in Czech Republic.

This novel was translated into Hungarian. It was published in 2003.
