Millet in Sint Hubert
Mill in Sint Hubert is a commune of the Netherlands in the North-East of the province of the Brabant-Septentrional in the north of the natural area of the Peel, area of peat bogs and forests. At January 1st, 2007, the common one counts 11.057 inhabitants.
History
The villages Millet and Sint Hubert since were always very dependant. With Wanroy, they were located in old the Pays of Cuijk and in the parish of Boxmeer. In 1326, the three villages form together the parish independent of Millet; at XIVe century they are put under only one college of aldermen ( schepenbank ) with Mill for chief town. Later the three villages have for the more local businesses each one their own council, always under the only college of aldermen. Wanroy becomes independent parish in 1551, St.Hubert at the end of the 18th century, 1796.When, at the time of Napoleon towards 1810, the communes are installed in the Netherlands, Wanroy chooses its own way, but Sint Hubert remains faithful to Mill and the two villages form the commune of Mill in Sint Hubert , name which it kept since. The chief town is always Mill. Towards the end of the XIXe century, the small colony of peat workers Wilbertoord, locality of Sint Hubert, develops with becoming a true village. In 1942 the commune of Millet in Sint Hubert appendix with the ocasion of a regrouping of communes the young village of Langenboom, which had developed with the end of XIXe with horse on the territory of the two old communes of Escharen and Zeeland. Thus the current commune counts 4 villages, which have all their church, their school, their house conmmunale and their sports associations. The common one has a surface from approximately 5104 hectare, of which majority of the cultivable grounds. This gives to the commune a country character and an entertaining value some.
