Millenium
A thousand-year-old is one calendar period of thousand Année S, i.e. of ten Siècle S.
There does not exist An 0 in the Christian era (Anno Domini) which defines the Gregorian Calendrier of use: a calendar always starts at year 1. (Moreover the Zero was known in Occident only from). Thus of the Christian era begins on January 1st of the An 1. On January 1st 1001 starts because 1+1000 = 1001 and begin it on January 1st 2001 (2001 = 1+2×1000).
In French, the numbers of the millenia usually note in Roman numerals in small capital letters.
