Milladoiro
Milladoiro is a founded Galician group in 1978. It became, following the example The Chieftains in Ireland, a reference in the world of the Celtic music.
It is currently composed of eight members:

- * Nando Casal (bagpipe, clarinet, chock whistle, cromorme, voice, perceived)
- * Antón Seoane (keyboards, guitar, hurdy-gurdy with wheel, accordion, voice)
- * Xosé A. Méndez (flutes)
- * Moncho García Rei (Bodhram, perceived, voice)
- * King Casal (toothing-stone, bouzouki, ocarina, perceived)
- * Harry C. (violin)
- * Manú Cop (guitars, bouzouki)
- * Nando Casal (bagpipe, clarinet, chock whistle, cromorme, voice, perceived)
Biography
Born from the meeting from Rodrigo Romaní and Antón Seoane, Milladoiro is before a whole disc published in 1978 and price of criticism the same year. The two musicians seek to combine with it various instruments and sonorities, this in company of Xosé V. Ferreirós, which is credited there as invited artist.
Xosé V. Ferreirós is as for him originating in a traditional group, Faíscas C Xiabre, in company of Nando Casal and Moncho García Rei. They will publish a disc, " In Memoriam" , in which appear… Rodrigo Romaní and Antón Seoane as invited musicians.
It is the union of these two formations as well as the arrival of the flutist Xosé A. Méndez and the violonist Laura Quintillán which will give the impulse to the group which will mark the history of the Galician music of the end of the 20th century.
The formation thus publishes its first disc, has Galicia de Maeloc in 1979. First Galician album published on the French market, it is composed of eight Galician traditional topics, Irish and four compositions of the group.
In 1980 leaves the second disc the group, O berro seco . It is as at that time as free Laura Quintillán the group to yield its place to the French violonist Michel Canadá. The work of exploration of Milladoiro continuous and, after having added uillean pipe in its formation, it is around the Scottish bagpipe to divide the high-speed motorboat with the Galician bagpipe in the album 3 , left in 1982 and to the visual intern inspired Pórtico da Gloria the Cathédrale Saint-Jacques-to-Compostelle.
The group carries on its road with Solfafria in 1984, recorded in Dublin with the participation of Paddy Moloney of The Chieftains, then Galicia No país das maravillas in 1986, first recording with song of will pandeireteiras, like several topics employed for the film mitad LED cielo. The collaboration of Milladoiro with the cinema world does not stop there because in 1987 they will sign the music of the film Divinas Palabras.
In 1989 the group leaves Castellum Honesti , first disc of the group published in the international market. Then, for the needs for the exposure Galicia No Tempo they sign a soundtrack in 1991, followed in 1993 of two other soundtracks, the first for a spectacle of theater of magic ( has Via Láctea ), then for an exposure to the Galician Center of contemporary art to Saint-Jacques-with-Compostelle. It is the time which Michel Canadá chooses to leave the group and to leave his place to the violonist Antón Seijó.
The return of Milladoiro in studio will be done in 1994 in company of the English Chamber Orchestrated. Recorded with the Studios Abbey Road, the group evokes the Chemin of St-Jacques de Compostelle with the length of seven topics where the orchestra mixes with the traditional instruments.
Two discs of order will follow, Gallaecia Fulget and No confín back verdes castros , intersected with a live in 1995, As fadas of estraño names .
Auga de Maio leaves in 1999 and signs a turning in the history of the group, because for the first time its musicians sing on certain topics. Seijó replaced by Harry C, with the violin, it will also act of the last disc of the founding member Rodrigo Romaní which will begin a career solo and of producer.
In 2002, O niño C ground sees the arrival of two novel members within Milladoiro, King Casal and Manú Conde. It is with this formation that the group will celebrate its twenty-fifth birthday, with in particular the exit of the disc XXV in 2005 proposing a second reading of their repertory.
