Milla, the way of the fireflies

Milla is the first of a couple of Romance of Science-fiction writes by Fabrice Drouzy and Christophe Pauly appeared in February 2004.

History

For Milla, the future seems very traced in this paddle of XXIVe century: a post of biophysicist in a good laboratory, a small apartment to divide with a girlfriend, some transfered night with friends… In short, a quiet and protected life, far from the winds poisoned which sweep surface, to million kilometers of the mystical revolutions which shake the moon or of the bloody mutinies on the orbit stations. With light-years in any case of all these bet which live still outside, out of quoted buried. As Alas, kid lost in the ruins of what was Mexico City and whose future is reduced to fights to the death between rival bands.

To change world, fifty years after the impact of the immense meteorite which failed to destroy humanity, it is really not in its projects. Then why repair these robots which are ruined? Why help this telepathic workman or recover to dream with improbable vessels? And initially, from which all these lights come?

A futuristic thriller mixing science, humor and action, in which breathless civilization will have to learn, once more, to exceed itself to reach at a new stage, in a new form.

Authors

The authors are two friends of childhood, become journalists (with Libération for Fabrice Drouzy, in a specialized channel for Christophe Pauly) and, of course, large consumers of Science-fiction, who made a success of, to four hands, to create a universe astonishing and by the characters attaching for their first novel.

The second novel, concluding this history, is named: Néva, the way of the fireflies (February 2006).

Summary: With Néva, the voyage continues. Embarked in the form of artificial intelligence désincarnée in the vessel alien, Milla, accompanied by a band of disorientated kids, an old soldier and a defective robot, the Earth leaves to leave to research planet the fireflies, continued by the lunar sect of the mooniens. A voyage through the solar system and the galaxy, on the traces of its future, until Néva, the frozen world where the adventure will find its term. Mixing science, humor and action, this novel involves the reader in worlds where men, mutants and computers must learn how to coexist on unforeseeable ways from now on.

Studies

As of the first lines, one finds oneself in an unreal decoration pertaining to a chaotic future of a future so remote. One cannot then prevent oneself from devouring this book thanks to the style of writing which is let read without effort and with the interesting history of a new world only one discovers completely: Earth.
