Mill with flour of Gumbrechtshoffen
The Moulin with flour is located on the commune of Gumbrechtshoffen, in the Département of the Low-Rhine.
Located at 2 rue de la Mairie, the mill on the Zinsel is quoted before 1630. Restored at the end of the 18th century by its owner Philippe Strohl, a stone of size on the side of the feeder canal carries the year 1779.
The mill included/understood three turnings at that time and in 1900, a turbine, always places, replaced the vertical wheel in lower part from there.
The mill functions until in 1940 but it is strongly damaged during the bombardments of 1945. Mainly rebuilt, the roof of the home with sides and croups broken did not go up.
This vast property is composed of a home also sheltering the flour-milling part, in masonry and of which part of the walls of the 18th century, in sandstone masonry with chains of stone angles of size, was preserved, in particular of back rise and along the channel (stones of red sandstone size).
This building is covered with a roof with great croups; the additional buildings include/understand barn, cattle shed, handing-over, wash-house and shelter a cellar, non-existent under the home.
Their walls have a level in masonry and a level in wood side.
