Military academy of West Point
The Military academy of West Point (in English United States Military Academy At West Point ) is with the naval Académie of Annapolis one of both military academies most prestigious with the the United States. The principal academy for USAF is named USAF Academy.
West Point was created the July 4th 1802 by the American Congrès. It is only in April 1812 which the academy had for true role to form the officers intended to be useful in the American army.
West Point is located in the State of New York, between New York and Poughkeepsie.
It is only in 1976 that a law of the Congress gives the possibility to the women of being allowed in West Point.
Today, they are approximately 1200 juniors who integrate the academy each year.
In the field Sport yew, the Army Black Knights defend the colors of the Academy.
The Academy is titular medal of the National order of the French Légion of honor.
