Milestones (Miles Davis)
Milestones is an album of Miles Davis recorded the February 4th and March 4th, 1958. The first quintet of Miles Davis becomes here a sextette with the arrival of Julian Cannonball Adderley with the alto saxophone. Miles Davis particularly appreciated the way in which its new saxophonist played the blues.
Milestones , the piece, is a first in direction of the modal jazz.
