Milan III Obrenović
Milan III Obrenović , in Serb Cyrillic МиланОбреновић (born with Kragujevac the October 21st 1819 - died with Belgrade the July 8th 1839), was prince of Serbia June 13rd with the July 8th 1839. It is also sometimes indicated under the name of Milan Ier or of Milan II.
Milan III Obrenović was the oldest son of Miloš Ier Obrenović, prince reigning of Serbia. Since its childhood it was of very fragile health.
Studying with the " High École" who was to become the Université of Belgrade, it is interested particularly in French and German.
June 25th 1839, when his/her Miloš father abdicates, it is designated as its successor. Although having " régné" during only 26 days, no official document was emitted under its name. It is deceased on July 8th of the same year, reached by tuberculosis and not having never begun again conscience.
It is his/her Michel brother who succeeds to him under the name of Michel III Obrenović.
Prince Milan was buried in the church of Palilula then his body was transferred to the Saint-Marc church from Belgrade.
