Milan-San Remo
Milan-San Remo or Milan-Sanremo is a race cyclist Italy created in 1907 and which is held between Milan and Sanremo, close to the French border. Disputed at the beginning of season, this long test is called Primavera . It is most prestigious of traditional Italian.
Eddy Merckx is the recordman of victories (7) obtained between 1966 and 1976.
In addition to its length, the first difficulty of the test is the rise of Turchino with semi-course. Since 1960, the rise of Poggio is also with the course of the test. The top of this authentic Justice of the Peace of the race is with a few kilometers only l´arrivée. It is the last difficulty of l´enchainement " Capi" in the last 50 km of the course, such Cipressa, Capo Miss, Capo Cervo and Capo Berta. The edition 1910 was certainly most painful for the runners because of the weather conditions. Stiff with cold after having rolled in 30 cm of snow at several places of the course, the French Eugene Christophe asserts himself with several hours in advance on the second! Left at 63, the competitors arrived only at 4.
