The laboratory Mikroguen is a Russian pharmaceutical laboratory, directed by the professor Anton Katlinski (in June 2006).

The name Microgen is also spelled " microguen " by the press, also named " Grouping Science-Production Mikroguen "

This laboratory was very médiatisé in 2006 to have developed a Russian candidate vaccine against the virus H5N1 of the Avian flu, tested with Moscow from May with mid-August 2006 on 120 not-hospitalized volunteers (especially of the health professionals, the donors, people in good health, old from 18 to 45 years).

This test program was subjected at an ethics committee and the volunteers all are assured.

The test is organized by the laboratories of the Research institute on the vaccines and the Metchnikov serums, under the direction of Professor Anton Katlinski de Mikroguen. The volunteers will be followed during the test by the Institute of the influenza of Saint-Pétersbourg and the Metchnikov Institute of the vaccines and the serums of Moscow, directed by Vitali Zverev.

This vaccine during the 1st tests would have immunized 95% of the vaccinated rats.

A first avian vaccine antigrippe in Russia is the subject of tests similar to the Institute of the influenza with Saint-Pétersbourg where the volunteers pétersbourgeois will receive 150 euros per test.

If it is approved, it should be able to be managed by intramuscular or subcutaneous injection or by oral way.

Anton Katlinski affirms that if the results are positive, Mikroguen can only produce a million amounts in 45 days, and of the same for a virus pandemic close to the H5N1.
