Mikkey Dee
Mikkey Dee , of its true name Michael Delaouglou , born on October 31st, 1963 with Gothenburg (Sweden), is the current beater of Motörhead. Before officer in the group, he played in the group King Diamond.
Biography
Mikkey Dee begins its musical career with local groups like Nadir and Geisha. It has as a beater models Ian Paice (Deep Purple), and for influence of the beaters such as Brian Downey, Neil Peart, Steven Smith or Buddy Rich.
In 1986, being moved to give a concert to Copenhagen, it joined the group King Diamond, in which it will remain until 1989, after the exit of the album Them, mainly because it wanted to also have a place in the composition of the songs, and that in King Diamond, one had put it side, readjusted in second plan. It will record nevertheless the album Conspiracy, before yielding its place to Snowy Shaw.
After King Diamond, it rejoigna Gift Dokken for its album solo, Up From The Ashes (1990)
In 1992, it agrees the proposal of Lemmy Kilmister (bassite-singer of Motörhead) to replace Philty " Animal" Taylor at the station of beater. In fact, Lemmy had already contacted it to play in Motörhead after the departure of Pete Gill in 1987, but Mikkey had just joined Dokken. He played a little later with King Diamond before leaving them in 1992 and integrating Motörhead finally.
To play in this group constituted for him a challenge but like he says it now, he knew “which he was better than Philthy Animal Taylor and than the hardest fans would end up appreciating it”. One hears his splendid services on remarkable albums such as '' Bastards '', '' Sacrifice '', '' We Are Motörhead '' or '' KIS off Death ''.
Lemmy acknowledges being very satisfied with the work of Mikkey in the group and like he says it in the album live Everything Louder Than Everyone Else, he regards it as “the best beater of the world”.
In 2003, it joined Helloween for the album Rabbit Don' T Like Easy, while continuing, of course, to turn with Motörhead.
