Mike Duffy

Mike Duffy (1946 -) is a Journaliste and a Canadian TV host . He is the organizer of the emission Mike Duffy Live and the correspondent with Ottawa of CTV NewsNet .

Originating in the Island-of-Prince-Edouard, Michael begins her career with the radio in the Années 1960. It joint with CFCF in 1969 where he becomes responsible about the bulletins for news and the assignments of the personnel.

In 1971, he becomes political journalist for the radio CFRA with Ottawa. Duffy becomes member of the parliamentary office of CBC in 1974 and works for the emission The National starting from 1977.

In 1988, it joint with Stick Broadcasting as a first organizer of Sunday Edition . When these televised series ceased diffusing in 1999, Duffy took its current station with CTV NewsNet.

He is noticed of the public for his pickling style, having carried out several interviews with the leading heads of the country. He brought back the death of Lucien Bouchard the September 8th 2005 whereas this one was always alive.

Duffy maintains a line rather hard at the place of the Québécois souverainists, never not inviting deputies of the Québécois Bloc on its plate. On several occasions, it supported that the Québécois trade unions force the professors to depict Jean Chrétien and Pierre Trudeau like " vendus". (The last allegation of this kind was made at the time of an interview with Marc Garneau, on October 19th, 2007.) In addition, Duffy posts a ribbon " Let us support our soldats" on the bumper of its sporting commercial vehicle and described the soldiers killed in Afghanistan like heroes. At the time of the electoral campaign of 2006, there was " a catch of bec" major between Duffy and the liberal strategist John Duffy (no family tie) about a publicity which wanted that Stephen Harper is on the point of sending soldiers in the streets of the country.
