Mike Delfino

Mike Delfino is the name of a fictitious character of the serial Desperate Housewives , played by James Denton.

History of the character

Season 1

In Wisteria Lane, Mike Delfino is supposed to be a charming plumber, whereas he works in fact to find his former boyfriend, Deirdre Taylor, curiously disappeared and whose father is Noah Taylor, old dying man. Finally, the remainders of the latter are discovered in a toybox of the Young family. The antecedents of Mike are numerous, it is learned indeed that it was drug trafficker and that it made a manslaughter by accidentally killing a police officer who wanted to have sexual relationships with Deirdre, also adulterating.

Felicia Tilman, sister of Martha Huber, request with Mike to kill her neighbor, Paul Young after having discovered that it had killed his sister. Mike tries to do it at the end of the first season, but gives up it by learning from the mouth of Paul Young that Deirdre had had a son and that Young had it in fact saved, whereas his/her mother was deeply doped.

Season 2

Mike is the biological father of Zach Young, which puts its relation with Susan Mayer in a critical situation: Susan is naturally frightened by Zach after this one pointed its weapon on it and that it is interested in his daughter, Julie. Whereas Susan was to leave to research Zach, it finds it, but incites it to take the train for the Utah. When Mike learns this " complot" , it puts an end to their relation, little time before their marriage.

For the periods of rupture between Susan and Mike, Edie Britt benefits from the occasion to have relations with Mike. Edie puts fire at the house of Susan and Mike helps Susan to make acknowledge the offense with Edie.

At the time of the last episode of the second season, whereas it was about to go to an appointment with Susan and to ask it in marriage, Mike is reversed by a car driven by Orson Hodge.

Season 3

He survives the accident, but is plunged in the Coma for 7 months. With its alarm clock, it is reached of Retrograde amnesia and does not have any two previous years memory. Edie profits once more and is avenged for it for Susan Mayer while lying on the relation that it and Mike had.

Shortly after its alarm clock, it is stopped for the murder of Monique Pollier, a woman which it remembers, but of which it is unaware of the identity. Traces of its blood are found on its monkey spanner. After its arrest, Edie puts brutally fine at their relation.

Before Susan Mayer and Ian Hainsworth do not help it to leave it prison (with the financial participation of Zach), Mike makes the meeting of Paul Young in prison, stopped for the so-called murder of Felicia Tilman, and which seems to accept its amnesia.

Following intrigues of Susan, Zach, become immensely rich, paid the guarantee of Mike who amounted to 1 million dollars. Thereafter, it succeeds in remembering the evening which led it at Monique Pollier, realizing that Orson was on the spot of the crime and decides to have a discussion with him. Unfortunately, the discussion is transformed into pugilism and Orson falls from the top of the roof of the hospital. After the death of Alma, the police force withdrew the loads carried against Mike when it found the teeth of Monique and the letter of suicide of Alma.

At the time of the opening of the pizerria Scavo, Ian required Susan in marriage before Mike does not make her request. Ian conclua, on part of poker, that if Mike lost, it was to move away from Susan; what arrived. However, Susan learned the truth and decided to move away from Ian and Mike. The latter continued to continue Susan, but failed each attempt. Finally, Susan announced that she wanted to marry with Ian and explained the reasons with Mike. This one left a message on the voice mail of Susan, in which he says to him that he would start from Wisteria Lane, that she listened twice. Ian, surprising it, decided to set out again in England.

Mike had decided to make an excursion, and was followed by Susan. Separating from its guide, Susan was lost in wood in the night but was found by Mike the next morning which embraced it by taking it in its arms.

Mike and Susan returned to the same place of the dinner, exactly the same evening as the previous year. Whereas Mike was about to make her proposal, Susan, hasty, did it in its place.

Lastly, Mike will marry with Susan in wood, during the night, with modest means but in a very romantic way.

Anecdotes

the character of Mike Delfino owed, at the origin, being played by an Italian actor. James Denton still does not know why it was finally selected.
In the beginning, in an old version of the script of the pilot episode, Mike Delfino was to have moved in Wirsteria Lane with his/her five year old son, Timmy and was not to have any particular secrecy. Finally, the scenario writers decided to include it with the history of Mary Alice Young and Deirdre Taylor by adding to it the fact that Zach Young is the son of Deirdre and Mike, adopted thereafter by Paul and Mary Alice Young.
