History

Association MIF was born in the form from a channel IRC (#gayfrance), on the network undernet in 1998. After a few months of operation and activities in the quite real world, and of the confidence tests (with names like gayfrance.org or beauty & beast), it is initially under the name of Men in France that the Web site was referred. The name of MIF was finally retained to deposit the statutes. Since its creation MIF has to develop the model of regional antenna and international contacts (in particular Swiss, Belgium, Italy).

In addition to the traditional missions of reception, visibility or fight against the Homophobie, association MIF develops with voluntary activities of user-friendliness on a model regional antennas. The activities of the user-friendliness types are the sport, the culture (visit of museum, BNF, left cinema, voyages (Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, areas of France…), and friendly meetings (bar, restaurant). Association supports also the gay communities such as for example the Communauté bear with cybears.org and cybears.eu or bearcenter.com or by lodging the " project; The circle arktique".

In addition to the permanent support for the channel #gayfrance on undernet, the Web site proposes activities on the Net in a free way, in order to ensure a whole an access to the minimum services awaited by the gay community in preoccupations with a reduction of the digital divide.

Association proposes partnerships with people known of the gay world, or other associations.
