There is nearly 40 years, Georges Urban and Marguerite Schmidt, two children of farmers of the village, decides to create a workshop of horseradish. The essence of their customers was composed then of townsmen because, at this time there, the majority of the peasants grated themselves their horseradish.

Manufacture, when with it, was concentrated over the winter months. An old saying affirmed it: During the months without " r" , the horseradish is bitter .

Technological advances made it possible to circumvent this handicap: as of spring, the roots are stored in cold stores to be transformed during the summer.

A few years later, the company finds its denomination final. Its only competition is foreign. Currently, the factory treats 171 tons of roots per annum. The Alsatian farmers, thirteen on the whole, are not enough to ensure its provisioning. Indeed, the local production is limited to a few 70 tons on an total surface area of eight hectares.
