Miesque

Miesque (1984-) is a mare English Pur-sang, born in the United States of the union of Nureyev and Pasadoble. Property of the Greek ship-owner Stávros Niárchos, it was pulled by François Boutin and was assembled by Freddy Head. Miesque was in its time the queen of the mile (1600 m).

Career of races

At 2 years, Miesque is already undeniable number 1 of its generation, thanks to its victories in the Prix of the Salamander and the Prix Marcel Boussac.

It confirms the following year by allocating to spring the Poule of Test of the Fillies and the 1000 Guineas Stakes vis-a-vis its contemporary. It tries its chance on the 2100 m of the Prix of Diane, a distance exceeding its natural predispositions, and failed to gain the test, finally beaten little by Indian Skimmer. Of return on the mile, it dominates the males and its elder in the Prix Jacques Marois, the Prix of the Mill of Longchamp and finishes its year by a victory in the Breeders' Cup Mile.

Remained with the drive at 4 years, it confirms that it is well best the miler of its time. After a victorious re-entry on the 1850 m of the Price of Ispahan, it carries out resounding doubled in the Prix Jacques Marois and the Breeders' Cup Mile (by 4 lengths), becoming the first horse to preserve its title in the American test. It is withdrawn with the stud farm on this blow of glare.
