Midori No Hi
Midori No Hi () is a Japanese national festival.
The April 29th was the day of the birthday of the former emperor Hirohito (Shōwa), born in 1901. This day is thus non-working since the rise of the emperor on the throne in 1926. With its death in 1989, nobody not wanting to lose one day of holidays and particularly that which marks the beginning of the Golden Week, the day was declared " Verte" day; ( Midori No Hi ) in commemoration of the Hirohito emperor.
Since 2007, this festival of the greenery is celebrated the May 4th and April 29th celebrates it is now entirely dedicated to the memory of the emperor Shōwa and is called Shōwa No Hi ().
