Midnight Cowboy ( Midnight Cowboy ) is a American Film carried out by John Schlesinger left in 1969.

Synopsis

Joe Buck, beautiful and fringuant cow-boy, leaves his native Texas to be established in New York with an aim of carrying out a career of gigolo. But its disappointment is fast and it is found with money court. In a bar, it meets Ratso Rizzo, a lost syphilitic, tuberculous and doped, who starts by swindling it while promising to him to find rich person customer to him.

Nothing comes if it is not a homosexual voyeurist and pervert. Ratso, taken remorse and suffering of loneliness, then proposes in Joe to make team with him. And a form of friendship is born between these two wrecks that all separates. They will have from now on one dream: to leave to the sun Florida…

• the song making the credits of beginning of film is a song of Harry Nilsson: Everybody' S Talkin' . This last had endeavoured besides to compose a ballade for this film which was refused.
• most of the action was filmed with Manhattan, more precisely in Greenwich Village, East Side, Park Avenue, the southern part of Central Park and with Times Square and its neighborhoods. Interior turnings as for them were carried out in an underpass of the subway, a block of apartments promised with the demolition, the Peninsula Hotel (to the 700 of the 5th Avenue), renamed the Barclay Hotel for the needs for film, with the pawnshop, in the shop of a tailor for men like with the Terminal of bus of Port Authority , with the angle of the 40e Rue and the 8th Avenue. To this place were also turned of films like Cocktail , Frankie & Johnnie or Recherche Susan hopelessly .

• the cemetery of Long Island was even requisitioned to become the theater of the one of the most poignant scenes of film. Finally it is with the angle of the 58e Rue and the 6th Avenue that Dustin Hoffmann and Jon Voight cause a formidable stopper! Several sequences were filmed despite everything apart from New York: in Big Springs, a small town of the plain of Texas (from where is originating Joe Buck) and in Miami Beach for the plans of end. Other scenes were turned in Filmways Studios, located in the part is 127e Rue.
