Middle-class Albéric
Albéric Bourgeois (November 29th 1876 - November 17th 1962) was a draftsman of Québécois cartoon.
Born with Montreal, the son of a typographer, he studies art and becomes illustrator with Boston, where he publishes The Education off Annie .
He works with the newspaper the Fatherland starting from 1903. Middle-class man created a Phylactère for the series adventures of Timothée as of 1904. According to the specialists Michel Viau and Mira Falardeau, it would be the first time that a phylactère is published in French language.
It joint with the Press in 1905, newspaper where he works until his retirement in 1954. During the Years 1900, it creates several series of cartoons.
Its greater production is inspired by the caricaturist Hector Berthelot, called the Père Ladébauche , which invented the character of Joseph Charlebois.
Thereafter, it takes part in spectacles and radio programs with the series and the characters whom it creates. After having taken its retirement, it is honoured in its medium and gains university prices. He dies the November 17th 1962.
