Microsoft Document Imaging Format
MDI ( Microsoft Document Imaging format ) is a Format of file created by Microsoft to represent scannés images pixmap or documents accompanied by annotations or optional Métadonnées which can include the text of the document, generated by OCR. MDI is a Format owner - the specifications were not made public by Microsoft, and files MDI can be produced and used only with certain software Microsoft private individuals, in particular by the module Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI) included in Microsoft Office 2003 and the version following.
Relation with tiff
It is known that MDI is an alternative of tiff (see references Brad Hards lower). Differences key of with tiff:- the Magic number is 0x5045 (ASCII “EP”?) (instead of 0x4D4D “MM” or 0x4949 “II”).
