Michoacán
Michoacán or more precisely Michoacán de Ocampo is a State Mexico located on the Pacifique coast, about in the center of the country. Surrounded, in the West by the States of Colima and Jalisco, in North by Guanajuato and Querétaro, in the East by the State of Mexico City and Sud-Est by the Guerrero, it occupies a surface of 59.864 km ². In 2003, it counted approximately 4 million inhabitants. The capital is Morelia.
The State is composed of 113 municipalities.
Geography
Michoacán covers a surface of 59.928 km ².The principal cultures of Michoacán are the Avocatier, the Chick-pea, the Citron, Sésame, Sorghum, and strawberries. The State is also an important producer of Bovidé S.

- the Paricutín: 2.800 meters. There entered in eruption the February 23rd 1943 and remained active until in 1952.

Michoacán also has mining richnesses: Gold, money, Lead, Zinc, Barite, Copper.
Policy and cities
Lázaro Cárdenas Batel was elected governor in 2002 for a 6 years mandate.Some cities: Hidalgo, Jacona, Piedad, Lázaro Cárdenas, Los Reyes, Pátzcuaro, Puruándiro, Sahuayo, Uruapan, Zacapú, Zamora, and Zitácuaro. It is also necessary to add Tzintzuntzán which counts vestiges of a city précolombienne.
History
Lázaro Cárdenas del Río was governor of this State between 1928 and 1932 and President of Mexico between 1934 and 1940.

Faunas and flora
The site of Angangueo in the north of Michoacán is famous to be a harbor for the butterflies monarchs ( Danaus plexippus ) which spend 6 months per annum in the forests of Sapin crowned of the area.
