Micheline Ostermeyer
Micheline Ostermeyer , wife Ghazarian , born the December 23rd 1922 with Row-of-Fliers the, deceased the October 17th 2001 with Wood-Guillaume, is a former French athlete , of 1 m 79 per 73 kg, and also a famous pianist.
Born in France, it passes its youth in Tunisia where it learns the piano. In front of its capacities, it returns to France to enter to the conservatory . During the Second world war, it turns over to Tunisia where, thanks to a sporting father, it discovers the sport, practitioner the Basket-ball and the Athlétisme. As of the end of the war, it becomes concert performer, obtaining the first price of piano to the Academy of Paris ( I devote five hours per day to the piano and five hours per… week with the sport! ).
In parallel, it always practices the sport and takes part in the university Championships of the world of 1947 (gold medal in height and with the weight) and in the Olympic Games of summer of 1948 of London. With the latter, it gains 3 medals, 2 Olympic titles with the Shot put and Throwing the discus, and a bronze medal with the High jump. It is thus the first French athlete Olympic champion. Only the 4 titles of Fanny Blankers-Koen prevent it from becoming the queen of these plays.
Complete athlete, it gains 13 championships of France in 7 different disciplines, that it is in races, throws or jumps (titles with the 60m, 80m, hedges, 4 X 100m, height, weight, disc and pentathlon), and it beats 19 records of France (1 with the 80m hedges, 1 in height, 10 with the weight, 4 with the disc and 3 with the pentathlon).
It will be also champion of North Africa and the Lebanon in basketball.
It gains 2 new bronze medals with the championships of Europe of Brussels, over 80 meters hedges and with the shot put in 1950, after its money medals over 100m and with the weight gained in 1946.
It stops the following year the sporting event after only 9 selections in team of France has of 1946 to 1951 (it will be also laid off with the French Stade in end of a career), to devote itself to the music in a career of concert performer, whom it exerts until the end of her days.
It spends the last years of its life to Grémonville (Seine-Maritime).
