Michelin chart

The chart Michelin is a road chart created by the company of tires Michelin in the Années 1900 for the motorists. For this purpose, the representation of the elements of the chart is arranged to facilitate the reading of it (suppression of certain details, displacement of elements if those are too close).

For France (charts n° 51 to 90), the scale of representation is of 1/200 000. This scale is also used in certain European countries (Belgium), other countries having a less detailed scale, generally 1/400 000.

There exists also a representation of this chart on the scale 1/1 000.000, the representation is simplified much there.
