Michel Winock

Michel Winock , born in 1937, is a historian French specialist in the history of the French Republic, movements Intellectuel S, Antisémitisme, Nationalisme and movements of Extrême right-hand side in France. It is Professor of the universities in Modern history with the Institut of political studies of Paris.

He is in particular the author of the Siècle of the intellectuals (1997), for whom he received the Médicis price in 2001 in the test category, and of the Voix of freedom (2001), greeted by the French Academy, and directed with Jacques Julliard the Dictionnaire of the French intellectuals .

Career

Doctor in letters, aggregate of history, Michel Winock was journalist for the Event of Thursday and for the World . He turned then to teaching although he always preserves a bond with the journalistic world by taking share at the editorial board of the magazine the History .
