Michel Wieviorka

Michel Wieviorka (born the August 23rd 1946 with Paris) is a Sociologue French. He is in particular recognized internationally for his work devoted to the Violence, the Terrorisme and the Racisme and the changes of the company.

He directs the Center of Sociological Analysis and Intervention of EHESS (CNRS) founded by Alain Touraine in 1981.

Since 2006, he is the president of the International association of sociology.

Currently (2007), Wieviorka is director of the international Cahiers of sociology with Georges Balandier.
