Michel Vaillat
Michel Vaillat , born on October 11th, 1941 with Ales, is a French Political personality , member of liberal Démocratie (DLL), then pertaining to the Union for the French democracy (UDF). He is married and father of 5 children.
Political career
Mayor of Slats during 4 successive mandates of 1977 with 2002, it directs the creation of several districts, whose that of ARIANE Port, organized around a Marina in the north of Slat-Center and whose first inhabitants settle at the end of the years 1990. Its name points out the project montpelliérain Port Marianne, upstream of the Lez. It initiates the house of nature at the entry of the natural reserve of Méjean.However, within the District of Montpellier, the relations with Georges Frêche, mayor of Montpellier, are execrable because of two polluting installations of the agglomeration located on the lattoise commune: the purification plant of Céreirède and the discharge of Thôt. Regularly, Vaillat and of the city council men of Slats are connected with the grid of entry of the latter to claim its closing.
In 2001, for personal reasons, it is not presented to the municipal elections, gained by an opponent Cyril Meunier.
Other mandates
He is general adviser of Herault, initially Canton of Montpellier-5, then of that of Slats until 1998, like vice-president of the district council of Languedoc-Roussillon.He is also the substitute for the deputy Willy Diméglio.
Distinctions
He is knight of the Légion of honor and officer of the National order of the Merit.
