Michel Treguer

Michel Treguer , also called Mikael Treger in Breton, is a producer of radio, realizer of television, journalist and writer born in 1940. He is the son of a public teacher of the Leon. After a career in the audio-visual one during which it met many intellectuals and artists of his time, he is today primarily writer.

Audio-visual career

After having made the Polytechnic school, he becomes producer of television and radio. He works in particular with France Televisions. He then attends intellectual all-Paris and of the audio-visual one. He meets number of intellectuals and contemporary artists (Claude Lévi-Strauss, Jacques Lacan, Roman Jakobson, Atlan, Rene Girard, Julien Gracq, Hans Hartung, Robert Rauschenberg, etc) with whom he produces films or books. He signs many radio programs and of television in French in Paris, but also into Breton in Brittany. Indeed, he will tell later which it will become aware at 30 years that the Breton culture, its culture , had been dissimulated to him up to that point, and it will decide to learn the scorned language.

He is prize winner of the Roberval Prix 1995 Télévision category to have carried out the Man reparerealized for the magazine Nimbus (France 3).

Reflections on the identity and Brittany

Michel Treguer devoted part of his work written to the concepts of identity and humanity, in particular his the last two works Aborigène Westerner and Espèce of Man! Test on the identity appeared in 2007.

He also rehabilitated Roparz Hemon at the end of his work Aborigène Westerner in 2004. The following year, he explains in Breton Silences , a text published by Ouest-France , why he translated and made published Breton redécouvrant Brittany . Here is an extract:
