Michel Tamaya

Michel Tamaya is a Politician French of the island of the Réunion born the December 19th 1944 with Sainte-Marie and member of the PS).

It succeeded Gilbert Annette with the town hall of Saint-Denis in 1994. It beats the right-wing candidate, Jean Chatel, as of the 1st turn of the municipal election of 1995.

In 1997, it is in addition elected Député of the First district of the Meeting vis-a-vis Rene-Paul Victoria, which beats it with the municipal elections 2001 and with the legislative elections of 2002.

It owes its defeat with the local elections with its will to divide the Meeting into two departments and with its distance of the population which had elected it. He is besides the author of a parliamentary report recommending this administrative reform rejected by the population.

He is nothing any more but member of the District council of the Meeting today.
