Michel Sicre

Michel Sicre was born with Leychert (Ariège) the September 29th 1901, died with Montgailhard (Ariège) the December 5th 1972.

Michel Sicre, former permanent secretary of the CGT, was brought in the area of Rheims by the Résistance. Captain, it organized civil and military resistance in several departments. In 1944, he was president of the departmental committee of the Release and was elected mayor of Rheims on May 19th, 1945. There will remain to it until September 1947. He married in Paris in 1925 Madeleine Minard (1906-1999), and rests with Montgailhard. He was titular Medal of Resistance and Chevalier about Léopold of Belgium.

Its grandson, Michel Sicre, are mayor of the commune of Bligny since March 2001.
