Michel Roquebert is a French writer born on August 7th, 1928. Laid off in philosophy, he was journalist with the Dispatch of the South until 1983. Grand Prix of History of the French Academy in 1970, prize winner of the Academy of the plays Floraux and of the Académie of Languedoc, it is a specialist recognized in the catharism.

In 1970, it launches out in the drafting of the first volume of the Epopee cathare , which is a great success. It will finish this series of six volumes in 1998. In 1978 and 1981, it carries out the scenarios of two albums of cartoons (drawings of Gerald Forton, Loubatières editions, Toulouse): Aymeric and Cathares and Aymeric in Montségur . In 1999, he writes Histoire of Cathares , synthesis of the preceding books, and launches out then in books more specialized over the period cathare.
