Michel PLASSON

Michel Plasson (born on October 2nd 1933 with Paris) is a Leader French.

Biography

It makes its studies near Lazare Levy with the conservatory of its birthplace and, after having gained a first price with the Concours of Besancon in 1962, share with the the United States over the councils of Charles Münch. It improves there near Erich Leinsdorf, Pierre Monteux and Leopold Stokowski before returning to France in 1965. He is musical director of the town of Metz during three years, before settling with Toulouse in 1968, in order to direct the Orchestre of Capitole, of which he did one of the best formations, if it is not the best, of France. Since the beginning of the years 1990, Michel Plasson works also regularly with the philharmonic orchestra of Dresden. His/her son Emmanuel Plasson is also leader.

As its recordings published at EMI confirm it (Maurice Ravel, Richard Strauss, Albéric Magnard, Henri Dutilleux, Albert Roussel, Giuseppe Verdi, Ernest Chausson, Jacques Offenbach…) or Berlin Classics (symphonic poems of Franz Liszt), Plasson is a traditionalist with the best direction of the term: a clear execution, specifies, dynamic, balanced imports to him more than research or the more or less imaginary expression of any direction.
