Michel Ordener
Michel Ordener (1755, the Hospital, the Moselle - 1811, Compiegne) is a soldier French.
Biography
Born the September 2nd 1755, to the Hospital (the Moselle), entered the dragons of the legion of Condé the 1er January 1773, sergeant the November 7th 1776; it passed, the December 9th, with its rank and a squadron, after the removal of the legion, in the dragons of Boufflers, and passed by again, with the same squadron, with the 4 {{E}} of Hunters with Horse, become 10 {{E}}.Ordener obtained all its advance in this body; Marshal-of-home the 1er September 1785, adjudant the May 23rd 1787, second lieutenant the January 25th 1792, lieutenant the May 23rd according to, captain the 1er May 1793, major on Thermidor 9 year II, and chief of brigade 30 fructidor year IV; it made the campaigns of the years 1792 and 1793 with the Armée with the Rhine and with the Moselle, and gave multiplied evidence of a brilliant value in the wars of year II to year VIII with the armies of the the Rhine, of the the Alps, Italy, England and the the Danube.
Appointed chief of brigade of pomegranates with horse of the guard of the Consuls, the 29 messidor year VIII, it was often quoted with praises by the various generals ordering divisions of which its regiment formed part.
In this countryside, intrepid Ordener made approximately 6 000 prisoners, took 26 pieces of ordnance, the major part of their boxes, 7 flags or standards, approximately 200 charriots charged crews, at least 2 400 horses; it had 7 horses killed under him, accepted eight blows of saber, including five over the head, with the business of Valevau, Thermidor 27 year VII, and three shots which, though enough serious, does not reflect it out of state to be able to continue its services: the only disadvantage which resulted from its wounds was a periodic deafness coming from a blow of ball which removed the right face to him.
Promoted Brigadier general the 11 fructidor year XI, member of the Legion-D' Honor the 19 frimaire year XII, it accepted from the Minister for the war, the 20 ventôse, the order to go on the town of Ettenheim to operate there the arrest of the Duc of Enghien. The Ordener general arrived there the 25, and made encircle, in.liaison.with the general Fririon, the house of the prince, by a detachment of gendarmerie and part of the 22e of dragons. At five hours and half, the doors were inserted and the duke taken along to the mill close the Tuilerie; his papers were removed, they were sealed, and one led the prince in a cart, between two hedges of fusiliers, until the the Rhine.
This order which the Minister for the war sent to the Ordener general was the copy, almost literal of that which it itself had received from the first Consul, under the date of the 19 ventôse.
After having operated the arrest of the duke of Enghien, Ordener did not take any share either direct or indirect with the judgment and the execution of this prince.
Named commander of the Legion-D' Honor the 25 meadow year XII, Ordener made, with the cavalry of the guard, the countryside of year XIII on the coasts of the Ocean, and passed, in vendémiaire, with the large army. In the war of Austria, this general supported his reputation, and made wonders of value to the Bataille of Austerlitz.
Promoted Major general the 4 nivôse year XIV, it continued to order pomegranates with horse of the Guard. Called with the Senate the May 20th 1806, and named ordering Order of the iron Crown, it obtained its retirement the October 25th according to.
Napoleon created the general Ordener Count of the Empire in 1808, and appointed it governor of the imperial palace of Compiegne on March 1st, 1810. It died there in the performance of its duties the August 30th 1811. It is buried with the the Pantheon of Paris.
Its name is registered on the Triumphal arch of the Star, west coast.
