Michel Michalakakos is a Altiste French born in 1954 with Athens.

It starts at the 13 years age to study the viola at father, Christos Michalakakos, then enters to CNSM of Paris the class of Colette Lequien (viola), and of Joseph Calvet (chamber music). It leaves there in 1977 with one 1st price viola while one year later, in 1978, it obtains its CA of teaching.

It integrates then of 1979 to 1984 the National orchestra of France and joined of 1981 to 1993 the Trio into cords of Paris.

It occurs regularly with French and foreign orchestras and gives recitals of sonatas, in particular with the pianist Martine Gagnepain, with whom it recorded several discs. Its partners of chamber music count in particular Roland Daugareil, Patrice Fontanarosa, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Gerard Jarry, Régis Pasquier, Jean-Marc Philips, Gerard Poulet, Vladimir Mendelsson, Henri Demarquette, Roland Pidoux, Bernard Cazauran, Isabelle Moretti, Philippe Bernold, Jean Ferrandis, Welsh Patrick, Maxence Larrieu, Michel Arrignon, Pascal Devoyon, the Elysium quartets, Manfred, Parisii…

Interested by all the types of music, it is not rare to see it taking part in concerts of Tango, Jazz, Gypsy music, traditional Musique.

He is since 1991 professor of sight reading with the national Academy higher of Music of Paris but also of viola than the national Academy of area of Boulogne-Billancourt since 1990. In addition to these activities, one finds it giving courses of viola and chamber music within the framework of training courses, international academies and masterclasses.
