Michel Kodjo

Michel Kodjo , born in 1935 with Soumier-Bia in the prefecture of Aboisso, is oldest of the famous artist-painters of Ivory Coast. He is the first painter of the Ivory Coast to have presented an individual exposure to Abidjan, before the Indépendance of the country, in 1957. He then followed the courses of the Ecole of Decorative Arts of Nice and of the Ecole of the Art schools of Clermont-Ferrand. Its works were exposed to Paris and New York. Since 1970, its workshop is installed with Large-Bassam, 40 km of the capital, in the district France or live much of artists, painters, sculptors or musicians. Its workshop abounds, in addition, of masks of a great beauty resulting from all the Africa.

The style of its painting east impresses Mysticisme and of Méditation.
